OVERVIEW

When your soul is tired, sleep doesn't help anyway! Do you agree?

"That was a cold rainy night as I was moving back and forth, while on my bed trying to fall asleep. I remember that I've closed my eyes 30 minutes ago but it looks like my mind was still wide awake.

I haven't been sleeping since I woke up nor drink coffee the whole day. I am so exhausted and all I ever wanted is to rest now."

Sounds familiar?

It's not just your thoughts that keep you awake at night; sometimes you can't sleep because you're so tired, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Have you ever feel so drained in life? I believe that once in your life you have experienced the same thing. Feels like you've lost all your energy and you don't have enough motivation to fight. Even though there is, just the thought of climbing the ladder makes you feel worn out. You're easily angered, you're not moving, you're barely breathing, you are hopeless.

That weariness or fatigue is an indication that you need to recharge yourself - your soul.

    Lao Tzu says:

"He who talks more is sooner exhausted."

    Mark Buchanan says:

"Most of the things we need, to be most fully alive never come in busyness. They grow in rest. "

Our weariness often is a result of putting much time or effort into the worries and bustle of this world. Stop talking, stop arguing, why not take a pause. If you'd like to reach more dreams, if you want to feel alive, take time to rest, stop draining your soul!

HERE ARE 6 WAYS TO RECHARGE AND HEAL YOUR SOUL:

1. OPEN UP / TALK ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS

This is where your trusted friends come in. Open up to those who really care, like your parents, Godly friends, siblings, mentor, or pastor. Do not fight your battles alone. Do not detach from these important people in your life, they could pray for you!

I understand, sometimes it is easier to be quiet and just work on things alone, to solve your problems on your own. However, it is going to drain you. Your pride or ego cannot save you. And remember opening up is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign that you are brave! Brave enough to ask for help and be vulnerable in front of others. But don't just talk to anybody else, you're matured enough to recognize who are those people you need to talk to. Because if you talk to the wrong people, their solution may not be right for you, or your situation might get worst. As it is said in:

1 CORINTHIANS 15:33

"Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character."

2. FORGIVE THOSE WHO HURT YOU

Being hurt is one of the reasons why you feel drained. Not only pain and unforgiveness are stealing your freedom and joy, but it also gives you a burden to carry on that makes you feel worn out.

    JOHN MASON says:

"The heaviest load you can possibly carry is a pack of grudges. So if you want to travel far and fast, then travel light. Unpack all of your envy, jealousy, unforgiveness and fear."

Maybe you were rejected, criticized, or abandoned. But learn to forgive those people who have hurt or offended you. In doing so, you're setting yourself free from stress and you're unloading the negativities, bitterness, and resentment on the other side.

    JOHANN LAVATER says:

"He who has not forgiven an enemy has never yet tasted one of the most sublime enjoyments of life."

You may ask the Lord to help you forgive and see the good in others. He is faithful to heal your heart and give you rest.

3. EXPRESS YOUR LOVE AND APPRECIATION TO OTHERS

    HENRY DRUMMOND once said that:

"You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have really lived, are the moments when you have done things in a spirit of love."

However, nowadays, it looks like it is easy to hate than to show love. Why is it always difficult to love? Selfishness! Don't you know that being self-centered is very tiring, why? Because when it is always about you, satisfaction won't last, eventually you will feel empty and alone. It says in:

    ROMANS 12:10

"Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves."

I don't know about you but for me, when you help, love, and appreciate others, it caused a feeling of happiness and well-being. A sense of self-fulfillment and joy. It is really true that if you do good to others, you're investing in yourself as well. You may not see it now but you're planting good works and it will grow soon enough.

4. COME TO THE PRESENCE OF GOD

Tired? Pray! Be away from the world and come to the presence of God. You will never experience true peace and rest but only in God's arm. It is said in:

    MATTHEW 11:28

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

    MATTHEW 11:29-30

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Prayer is a battle and God's presence is worth fighting for! Your time with the Lord is very important to truly renew your strength. If we often spend time chatting or talking to our loved ones or friends, why not we can't talk to God? It often takes humility to give your burdens to the Lord. You can only enter the presence of God in focus and humility.

Nothing compares to the peace that God gives. He alone can give you fire to continue again in life and have hope. It is okay to cry out and be honest to God, He sees your heart, He sees you're tired. He wants to give you rest.

    2 CORINTHIANS 4:16 (NIV)

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day."

    2 CORINTHIANS 4:16 (GNT)

"For this reason we never become discouraged. Even though our physical being is gradually decaying, yet our spiritual being is renewed day after day."

5. EAT AND RELAX

Yes, you heard it, you must eat! Our body and mind will not function well if we're hungry. Food is one of our basic needs just like sleeping. We must eat to regain strength, it is a necessity. Look at this passage about Elijah, the Lord's
prophet:

    1 KINGS 19:4-6

4 "While he himself traveled on a day’s journey into the wilderness. He sat down under a broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, LORD,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my fathers.”

5 Then he lay down under the broom tree and fell asleep. Suddenly an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.”

6 And he looked around, and there by his head was a cake of bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again"

See! Amazing! The Lord already knew what you need. Just like Elijah, he was a prophet and he's also a human, just like us. He also felt tired and even got suicidal however God showed up.

Maybe you also feel the same or maybe now, you're dead. Your hope is dead. Your faith is dead. Your dreams are dead. But God is telling you, Get up and eat! God still wants to use you. He still wants to bless you. There's more in life!

6. UNWIND / WORRY LESS

What is unwind? Believe it or not, this must be one of my favorite words! Unwind means loosen up or relax after a period of work.

I usually visit a peaceful place when I feel swallowed up by so many things. Just a view of the lake, trees, and the sky is fine for me. I don't have to go out of town, for some, they call it sweet escape. For me, it is a time to be free from worries and just appreciates God's creation.

Worry on the other hand consumed your energy and time that makes you tired. "Instead of worrying what you cannot control, shift your energy to what you can create", as per Roy T. Bennett.

What does the bible say about worry?

    MATTHEW 6:34

"Do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself, each day has enough trouble of its own."

How many times the Lord reminded us not to worry about the things of this world. If we worry, it means we didn't trust God. But if we come to Him in prayer and believe in His Word, our worries and anxiety will immediately disappear!

FINAL THOUGHTS

THERE MAY BE TIMES THAT WE FEEL WORN OUT AND DRAINED,

ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT THERE ARE WAYS TO RECHARGE YOUR SOUL.

TAKE TIME TO REST. UNLOAD YOUR BURDENS.

LOVE MORE, APPRECIATE MORE.

WORRY LESS FOR GOD IS IN CONTROL.

GOD BLESS!

EVEN WORDS LEFT UNSAID

OVERVIEW

What if all you ever knew about love was a lie? You're ready to cross even the seas and mountains, you will reach for the moon and the stars, you will fight for your feelings no matter what, you will do everything in the name of love.

That's so cheesy! And we've used a lot of claims not meant to be taken literally. Many called it crazy or madly in love, so now we associate love in some kind of lunacy, think about it.

So this is love? Hmmm...

Are you that kind of person who can easily give up everything just to be with that special someone? That feeling where you can give up your own happiness and comfort, your time with your important relationships - family, friends, and even God. I'm not saying that it is wrong to be with someone you love, of course, it really depends however, I'm talking about it most of the time! Like you're afraid to just follow your heart for the sake of avoiding arguments or you're afraid to let him/her down that's why you can't say NO.

You are missing the point of discovering your own gifts and passion in life. Yeah, I know, others might say that they've already heard of this before, that 'you have to find yourself first' or whatever. But only those who really understand the importance of self-love will truly appreciate this.

My mom once told me to find myself first - my passion and my purpose before entering into any relationship. But I've made my own radical excuse that it is okay, for I will still discover myself inside the relationship. So what now? Looks like what's important to me that time is what I've felt at the moment.

Now, I understand what she's trying to say. So let's get into it.

LET'S EVALUATE OURSELVES, IT IS SAYS IN:

SONG OF SOLOMON 8:4

"Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires."

Nowadays, when you look on social media, seems everyone is posting about relationship goals. Being in a relationship looks so enticing. You'll eventually get an idea to try it yourself for the sake of trying.

Many teenagers failed to see the importance of pursuing friendship before they really get into a serious relationship. Most of us really think that it's right because that's what the world says. Many were skipping the friendship stage and everyone is on for the dating game. Well, I can say that it is merely impatience.

However, I believe in the saying that "Don't rush what you want to last forever." You must learn to let that love develop naturally and maturely in its own time.

FOUR SIGNS OF AN IMMATURE LOVE

1. THAT "ME" MENTALITY - Your focus is still your own selfish desires. There is always a need to get something from the relationship, it can be fame, pleasure, and emotional gratification.

2. NAME CALLING IN FIGHTS - A mature person will not use harsh words or name-calling when mad. If you really love someone, you will still respect him/her even if you're in a fight.

3. YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE PERSON - Remember, you cannot change a person's heart, if you do, you will only tear him/her apart. However, you can always pray for that person, give it to the Lord and the One who knows everything. If you truly care, never stop praying for your loved ones.

4. JEALOUSY/DISTRUST/OBSESSIVE - Are you that kind of person who is always suspicious about something. You're always too worried about your partner? I wonder how tiring it must be, there's always a feeling of heaviness and anxiousness.

However, It is said in:

    1 CORINTHIANS 13:7

"Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."

For the past years, this has been the source of my motivation and hope when it comes to my love life. I don't know, it's just giving me a sense of peace and security, that true love never gives up and endures forever. And there's always hope, there's always faith. Love always wins!

Leo Buscaglia says:

"For a moment, love can transform the world. Love is life...and if you miss love, you miss life."

WHAT IS THE REAL DEFINITION OF LOVE BASED ON GOD'S TRUTH?

    JOHN 3:16

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life."

    JOHN 15:13

"There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."

    ROMANS 5:8

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

    1 CORINTHIANS 13:1

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth."

This is Agape Love, the highest form of Love. It refers to the covenant love of God to us. God loves you! No matter what you've done or where you've been. Our Father gave His only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ to save us from the darkness of sin. Before we are so vulnerable, enslaved of sins but thanks to the Lord, now we are freed.

It is true that you cannot give what you don't have. How can you give love if you constantly feel unloved? You know what, you don't have to worry, there is someone who loves you. Jesus can only satisfy your heart. God's love is abundant. He is always present in every aspect or situation of your life. You only need to seek Him with all your heart.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I'm not an expert in relationships neither on Love. I still commit mistakes and I am still learning. But I believe no one wants to be miserable in life. And if you're in the love searching game, take a break, don't over the search, do not hurry. But don't just sit down! Why not cherish and use this moment of your life to do things that make you happy, grow with your family relationships and self-development. Patiently wait until love finally finds you.

Maybe you've been in a relationship before or you haven't, and still asking the universe, where is 'the right one'. Remember that God has a plan and purpose for you! And someday somehow you'll get there. Just stay in the path where God called you to be.

God knows the desires of your heart. He knows every heartbeat of it. Are you still in doubt to trust Him?

Learn to trust in God's plan. Surrender your desires to Him. You may not know, someone out there is praying for you. Because you are worth praying for.

THOUGH THERE ARE THINGS THAT YOU WANT TO DO RIGHT NOW,

THERE ARE WORDS THAT YOU WANT TO SAY TO SOMEONE,

HOWEVER, LOVE WILL ALWAYS REMAINS!

BECAUSE LOVE IS EXPRESSED IN SELF-CONTROL AND PATIENCE!

EVEN IF WORDS LEFT UNSAID...

ANGER DOESN'T GET YOU ANYWHERE!

OVERVIEW

Have you ever feel mad or angry at the very moment you wake up in the morning? That compelling feeling that there's a powerful force irresistible in a way, and all you can do is to be mad! That happened to me a lot!

Why am I being frustrated with nothing? What's good in the morning? What is it? Answer me! Well, sorry for that. I just can't stop thinking about it. I am so mad for being mad and that's crazy!

What does the Bible say about anger?

EPHESIANS 4:26

"And 'don't sin by letting anger control you'. Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry."

JAMES 1:20

"Human anger does not produce the righteousness of God desires."

PSALMS 37:8

"Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper - it only leads to harm."

Now we gain a little more wisdom from these passages. It only means that anger does not come from the Lord. Where does it really come from? You guess!

When we are angry, we only hurt our own selves. Why? You feel uneasy and there's no peace at all. Seems like there's a huge coal-burning inside your chest waiting to explode. You can't breathe and there's a clog in your heart, restraining your joy.

Okay, that's a little bit exaggerated. But you can imagine a really angry person, and describe it yourself. It's one of the unpleasant things that could happen, I could say. Or worst, it can cause a fight and kill our important relationships.

However, you don't want that to happen, right? That's why you're reading this. And yes, I'm also like you. I've been searching for answers cause I want to become a better version of myself. So here's what I found out.

4 ACTIONABLE WAYS IN OVERCOMING YOUR ANGER
(GOD'S WAY)

1. YOU MUST HUMBLE YOURSELF

When you humble yourself, you are wise. When you stop arguing, it only means that you are matured enough to understand things.

As for my own experience, humility saved me from many fights and arguments. Humility restored so many relationships. And mind you, it's not that easy, especially when you know you did nothing wrong, your ego and pride are like a roaring lion. But the essence of humility is humbling yourself even if you are sometimes right.

Abhijit Naskar says:

"Humility comes through awareness of the depths of yourself."

So if you know who you are, you will not just burst out into anger or frustrations. If you know that you are a 'Child of God', you must walk in the path of righteousness. I am so glad that I learned to humble myself whenever I've made a mistake or get easily angered, thanks to the Word of God, thanks to the Conviction of the Holy Spirit. The Lord is faithful to remind me of 'Who I Am' and I believe 'I am who He says I am".

PROVERBS 11:2

"Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom."

ROMANS 12:21

"Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good."

2. CONTROL YOUR TEMPER, DON'T LET ANGER CONTROL YOU

I don't believe you if you said, you cannot control yourself, or your emotions! Of course, you can! The answer is discipline and practice. As you do things repeatedly, it will become your habit, it will become your attitude.

PROVERBS 22:6

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

But you're not a child anymore, I believe you are now capable of making decisions and maybe you're a little more responsible now. Who wants to be living in anger and conflicts, no one right? It is said in:

PROVERBS 15:1

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger."

PROVERBS 14:17

"Short-tempered people do foolish things, and schemers are hated."

GALATIANS 5:22

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

These passages, sum it up. Those who are quick to anger were most likely easily get into trouble. Those who stay patient and knows how to control their temper, I assume, are living a quiet and peaceful life.

3. GIVE IT TO GOD

In connection with humility in number 1. This time, you have to humble yourself before the Lord, in sincere prayer. Accept that you can't do it alone. It is by God's grace that we are now cleansed from our sinful nature. As you repent from your sin, God will do the rest. He will mold your character, He will finish what He has started on you.

PHILIPPIANS 1:6

"And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns."

He alone can change the heart of a person, there's no other name but Him. Just like you are praying for others; your loved ones, sisters, mother or father, might as well start to pray for yourself. Nothing will be impossible with God if you believe. Because faith without action is dead. As you pray, help yourself, be decisive!

4. READ AND APPLY GOD'S WORD DAILY

God's Word is our powerful weapon. You must understand that there's a spirit battling against our flesh. Rebuke the spirit of anger that is not coming from the Lord. Fill your minds with the promises and instructions of the Lord and you will surely come out wise. You will eventually know how to react or speak in a particular situation. Because the Word of God is the final authority of our lives!

It is one thing to listen to sermons and another thing to read directly from the Bible. Cause remember, the Lord communicates with us through His Words, and you will personally understand what He is trying to say to you. His revelation to you might be different from the others. After all, it is between you and God, it is about your personal relationship with the Lord.

2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

HEBREWS 4:12

"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

FINAL THOUGHTS

REMEMBER, THIS IS A LIFELONG PROCESS.

GOD IS NOT FINISH WITH YOU YET.

DON'T BE TOO HARSH ON YOURSELF.

EVENTUALLY, YOU WILL OVERCOME YOUR ANGER.

JUST LIKE JESUS HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD.

JUST DON'T STOP PRAYING, NEVER STOP BELIEVING.
