HEALING CANNOT HAPPEN WHEN WE HIDE

OVERVIEW

How's your heart? Often times we didn't really recognize the condition of our hearts. There are moments in our life that we are so drawn to something that we didn't realize we are hurting our own selves. It may be pride, sin, addiction, frustrations, and more. Or maybe you're so discouraged right now, hopeless, wounded; you know what if you put your faith in the wrong thing, it will surely leave you broken.

However, I am writing this down to let somebody know that whatever situation you're in, or whatever weight in life you're carrying. Please remember that you're not supposed to carry it alone. There are people out there whom God has put into your life to help, it's just one step towards humility, who wouldn't want to get better? It is said in:

JOHN 3:21

"But anyone who lives by the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be shown to be accomplished by God."

JOHN 8:32

"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."

The truth is in God's Word, and once you're living in truth, you'll be free from any chains. And anyone who's not pretending and eager to get better is desperate to come to the light. We must be willing to confess and acknowledge that we can't live alone. We are created by God with a purpose, and He loves me and you! He is willing to set you free if you will just allow Him.

Just in case you are decided that you really want to get healed, be restored, and live victoriously, just continue reading and I'm going to give you some practical advice, later on, let me share with you first my story

I'm a fighter. I believe that I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me. But though you have a positive mindset, it is not always consistent, right? There are times that I felt so knocked down by fear and worries. I was 24 when I started to suffer from depression. I was fighting a battle I didn't even know about. I resigned from my long-time job to rest. But physical rest was not enough. My soul must've been extremely exhausted. Have you ever felt so invaluable, so worthless that you couldn't start anything? Seems like my life has no purpose. I've been writing this story all over again because I felt like this is worth sharing. If you've been reading my previous blog, you'll see my journey on how I have overcome anxiety and continue fighting for that freedom through the help of my loved ones, fellowship, and most importantly, my quiet time with God.

I never thought in my whole life that I would experience depression. I never ever imagined and I do only see that on tv, and I was hearing that from people who've been depressed and in some news, committed suicide. I understand now that it was real and the battle is really in our minds and emotions. I am writing to let you know that it is not the end of the world. The Lord our God has a purpose for your life and maybe that hardships are a beautiful part of it.

HERE ARE THE 5 TIPS TOWARDS HEALING

TIP#1. SPEAK TO YOURSELF, DO NOT LISTEN TO YOURSELF

There was a difference between listening to the desire inside you that comes from God than the words of adversity and discouragement that may run into your mind. The enemy will always find a way to control us through our minds. Our thoughts become our actions and when the thoughts are being validated by our emotions, just like sadness, hopelessness, we might end up accepting these thoughts of defeat. Those are lies!

Not long ago, the negative thoughts along with my emotions are trying to sneak in again into my head. And whenever I entertain I felt that I couldn't breathe, my body and muscles become helpless, maybe to some, I am exaggerating but I'm not. Mind you, thoughts are really powerful. However, during that time, I decided to immediately cancel those thoughts and I started speaking the truth over my life.

God loves me

He cares for me

He doesn't want to harm me

God wants to give me hope and a future

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength

I believe that God is not finished with my life yet

God sees me

I am not alone

The blood of Jesus is powerful

The Name of Jesus is powerful

I am victorious through Him

Nothing is impossible with God

The Lord is working for my good

He will never leave nor forsake me

His grace is abundant

I am saved, loved, redeemed

I am renewed, strengthened, recharged

I am beautifully and wonderfully made

God has a purpose

There is a season for everything under the heavens

If you believe anything is possible

And I made a whole lot more of declaration and the truth of God's Word here on my mobile notes. The negative thought was sudden just like flashing lightning and when you're outside or you can't really pray when the lies of the enemy attack, you may also try to do this. Just type it out all in your phone's notepad and read it again and again until it enters your subconscious.

TIP#2. READ AND LEARN

Just this morning, my younger sister attended her school's webinar on a topic about 'Mental Health'. I overheard the discussion where there is a student asking the Psychologist Doctor, what should we do when an anxiety attack. Here's what she said:

  • Distract your mind
  • Inhale/Exhale

I felt how sure she was in her answer. I did agree! I didn't even consult a Psychologist but I learned the principle of occupying my mind with good thoughts and through reading. In another book that I've read shares the story of a businessman who is practicing how to eliminate junk in his mind. The man closes his eyes, visualizing flowing water out of a container, the container is our mind, and the negative thoughts, worries, discouragement are the water. But after you eliminate the unnecessary thoughts, fill your mind immediately with pure good thoughts! An empty mind is a playground of the devil!

You may read the Bible which is the Word of God, contains the truth of life and how God loves you! You may also read books that can uplift you, or articles just like this one. Go to Expressions or National Bookstore and find a good book. But please No to Romance, Novel, and Fiction. It may stir up different emotions. But if you don't want to spend money on books, I encourage you to download PDF books on the internet, just look for free! You can try to download a few:

  • 'The Power of Positive Thinking' by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale
  • 'Breaking Intimidation: How To Overcome Fear and Release the Gifts of God in Your Life' by John Bevere
  • 'I Kissed Dating Goodbye' by Joshua Harris
  • 'Let Go Of Whatever Holds You Back' by John Mason

This may be very hard for others, I don't know, maybe reading is not really your thing. But I know most of the successful leaders, business owners, famous speakers, and pastors are those who never stop learning and never underestimate the power of reading. Those famous speakers that I know just like Pastor Paul Daugherty and a Filipina Host Ms. Celestine Gonzaga-Soriano have a great impact on my life. I wonder where they've got their wisdom? If you will watch on Youtube Ms. Toni Gonzaga's interviews, you may notice that she answered with more wisdom than any other artists I know. It is said in:

PROVERBS 2:6

"For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding."

We also do need wisdom and knowledge to fight our spiritual enemy. For even the devil himself used the Word of God to tempt Jesus in the wilderness. But Jesus answered with authority through God's truth. (Matthew 4:1-11)

There was really a time that things will not work out the way we wanted. But as long as we are holding on to God, acknowledge His power, and continually praying, we will eventually understand God's heart and I surely believe it is for our good!

Good thing I was reading a good book and I applied in my life a piece of practical advice that I learned from the book, 'The Power of Positive Thinking' by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. This influences my mind that If I believe, and I picture out things I really wanted to get in my life, it will happen. There was a story of a woman who testified that her life is so messy, her husband is always in trouble, and her mother-in-law is sick after she discovered the principle of 'Believing', everything turned out well. She said every morning, declared three times the phrase, ' I believe, I believe, I believe'. She does this for days, weeks, months faithfully looking forward to the good. And it happened. Her mother-in-law get healed, her husband got a new job, and she felt so peaceful and became so positive. Believing in something that you haven't seen yet is FAITH! Amazing!

Another Word of God that stirs up my faith is in:

Mark 11:24

"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

Honestly, I am so desperate to get healed. I've tried the formula that I shared about the woman. Every morning, I declare to myself, 'I believe, I believe, I believe', I tried it for days, weeks, and months. Yes, it is possible to position positivity and faith the very moment you open your eyes in the morning. Even if you don't see results right away, hold on, and just believe. God is working behind the scene. I was surprised how far I was able to go because of this 'self-encouragement'. I've almost given up that time but because I fought and declare faith, it manifests in my life. When God sees that you keep on believing in Him despite the struggles, He will heal you. I am healed! He gave me strength. Everything feels so safe and as I walk in the light, the light shines in our home. He poured out His blessings and protection upon us. And I am now heading to another level of my faith and relationship with God.

TIP#3. LISTEN TO YOUR MENTORS, GUARDIANS, PARENTS, AND PASTORS

If you will read Proverbs, you may see why obedience is important. When we feel so overwhelmed and don't know what to do, if we are confused or about to make major decisions in life, seek advice. That's where our important connection comes in! Do not be afraid to share your battle with them. I am so blessed that I have a spiritual mentor who's not only leading me to Christ but giving me practical instructions on how to live a victorious life. It is said in:

Proverbs 15:22

"Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed."

Proverbs 11:14

"Where there is no guidance the people fall, But in abundance of counselors there is victory."

Proverbs 19:20

"Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future."

Proverbs 1:7

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction."

I leave the rest of the Proverbs for you to read on your own and discover where God is leading you. I don't really understand the importance of seeking counsel until I experience a downfall. I was disobedient, proud, and self-driven. I've tried to control things on my own and I am hesitant to ask counsel to the point that I even disobey the 'Word'. The result is disappointment, danger, and defeat. Not just I lose my purpose, but literally, I became physically, emotionally,. and mentally weak.

You know what, there are people given to us by God to protect us, guide us, and lead us. Many young people aren't open to their parents or even leaders, and because of that, they're being misled by what's trending and the standard of the world. However, I guarantee you, if you want to be successful in all aspects of your life, listen to your parents, leaders, pastors, and most importantly acknowledge God and listen to His Voice.

TIP#4. BE JOYFUL

Just so simple, right? How can we be happy if there are lots of problems around us? 'Be transformed by the renewing of your mind' (Romans 12:2). Yes, it is so easy to frown, get angry, worry but it will only make us sick. Physical sickness, mental, emotional, it is all affected. I wonder how real this verse is:

Proverbs 17:22

"A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones."

James 17:2-3

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance."

See, even our sufferings can cause something good. So I truly believe that God has a purpose. You have a choice! Choose joy, choose life!

TIP#5. BE INTIMATE WITH GOD

What is the meaning of being intimate with God? It simply means you have to be closer to the Lord. Just like human relationships, if we are intimate or close to someone, we tend to communicate with them every day, we tell them what is going on in our lives. Daily communication to God is essential for complete healing.

I am always fascinated by the greatest doctor I've ever known - Jesus. Remember the story of the woman who's been experiencing non-stop bleeding for 12 years. Imagine how long she suffered. She knew this man Jesus, who can heal the sick, make blinds see, cast out demons, and raised the dead. Maybe she doesn't know all about this, one thing she believes, Jesus can do miracles. At some point in our lives, we are that woman. Let's accept it. Don't hide if you want to get well. You need Jesus in your life!

I personally admit that I am that woman, so desperate to get healed. She said to herself if only I can touch even the piece of His robe, I will be healed. What kind of faith is that! One time, I prayed to the altar for healing. I visualize touching the robe of Jesus, and I believed that I am healed, and I know I am. I couldn't explain how that negative energy has lifted up and was taken away, I gained strength. I can proudly say that it was the healing power of God that made me well and not only that, He gave me a conquering spirit.

The joy, peace, and power became so evident that it seems there's a light to any place I go. There's boldness and an eagerness to share how great our God is. Thanks to the Holy Spirit of God.

FINAL THOUGHTS

So whatever it is that you want to get healed, physical illness, emotional wounds, and mental dysfunctions. Don't lose hope! God wants to heal you and give you a bright future. Let me close this article with this verse that Jesus said to the woman. Claim it in the Name of our Beautiful Lord Jesus:

Mark 5:34

"He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering."

KEEP YOUR FOCUS, STAY ON YOUR PATH!

OVERVIEW

When you have set your own goals, I believe you must give it all that you've got to reach it out. No one else knows the dreams inside you but yourself, so go for it, no matter what.

I felt in my heart that in order to get to your destination, you may encounter a lot of disruptions along the way. And when you're tempted to turn left and right, you might end up losing your focus and get off track.

TOM HIDDLESTON said:

"You never know what's around the corner. It could be everything. Or it could be nothing. You keep putting one foot in front of the other, and then one day you look back and you've climbed a mountain."

And that's what you called FAITH. In life, we must take a step to reach elsewhere, though you don't know what's on the other side of the wall, at least you take a leap of faith. For in my mind, if we can't even make a decision to move forward, we will miss LIFE!

God has given us all that we need; skills, gifts, talents, abilities, resources, and even supporters, 'life cheerers', our loved ones, and friends. And I presume, you already knew about this. And I just want to remind you that God has already ordained the path that we have to take in life. His voice and words shall direct us. Nonetheless, your destiny is the result of the pathways you take and the doors where you've entered.

But how does it feel to get astray while you're in the middle of the journey? Can you imagine that? When you're almost there, trying your very best to reach your destination and suddenly, here you are again, falling off track. It is not because you've lost the goal in your heart, but because you got distracted from so many things around you.

WHAT GETS US DISTRACTED FROM OUR OWN PURPOSE

1. Comparison - Maybe it's not you who's been comparing yourself to others. There may be a time you're overhearing people who've been setting up their own standard 'for you' of success through the accomplishments, titles, and experiences of others. And sometimes those who are close to you unintentionally tell you, "You should also get that kind of job", "Look at their life, looks so happy and perfect, why you're aren't?". All of a sudden, you were compared.

If you listen to these words, your mind may agree to it and will make you rethink the path you're currently taking. It's not bad to evaluate yourself especially when it is for your own good. However, when jealousy entered the heart, that would be a big problem! Cause you will never be satisfied if envy drives you to reach the same destination as they were.

Remember that there are no two people who have the same destiny. Each and everyone has a unique purpose and life experience. And I think, it's beautiful, for it gives me hope and a sense of identity that I can be who I wanna be. Where I don't have to live behind the shadows of other people.

Last week, I just saw an Instagram post and it says like this:

"Unfollow all accounts that make you feel less as you are."

It is somehow true for those who keep looking at the life of others. When it is becoming toxic and when social media causes you to feel miserable, I think, this may apply to you, why not unfollow? And start following those pages and accounts that will encourage and uplifts your soul. But look at what the Bible says about comparing ourselves to others. It is said in:

GALATIANS 6:4

"But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another."

2 CORINTHIANS 10:12 (ESV)

"Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding."

PHILIPPIANS 2:3

"Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves."

See! It is said that we must prove our own work and those who compare themselves to others are not wise. Why is that so? Because you will never win over comparison, it just didn't happen that way. When you're not loving your own self and not seeing your own blessings, you will always lose!

2. Intimidation - This is defined by Google as a fearful feeling towards something or someone in authority, or to frighten a weaker person to do what you want. When we are intimidated, it is blocking our potential. It makes us scared to speak and act, being afraid to be judged, thus freezing ourselves that keep us from reaching our full potential.

When we are paralyzed by intimidation, everything we do feels dead. There's no life! This idea was clearly explained by John Bevere in his book "Breaking Intimidation". He said:

"An intimidated person honors what he fears more than God."

And that is the reason why many of us are ineffective. We fear men more than we fear God. But if you personally knew what the Lord speaks in your heart and you obey it. I believe He can release the power and the authority that is within you. As it says in:

2 TIMOTHY 1:7

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

3. False Humility - Have you ever encountered this term, 'false humility'. Humility is meekness, it contradicts pride. Once, I heard a preacher said: "Who is the humblest person that ever walked on earth? - JESUS, But how many times did He criticize Himself? - NEVER!"

We often mistake fake humility for incapability and lack of power. This is one of my major 'issues', honestly. Have you ever felt so helpless that people can easily overpower you? I think that is false humility too! Deep down inside, you were frustrated and there is a sense of pride however you are afraid of confrontation.

I know that sounds absurd. But it is real! There are people who are really struggling to be the best person they could ever be due to these reasons. There are some who can't stay on one path, trying to fit into the world's standard. When the Lord Jesus came down to earth, He modeled how we must live our lives and how to keep on the right track to fulfill the 'Perfect Will of God.' This is what I personally found out HE:

Confronts/rebuke - He's not afraid of what other people may say, as long as He's connected to the Father. And He loved us so much that He corrected us no matter how hard it is or may be painful to some, (Mark 8:17-18).

Speaks with power and authority - When you speak of the truth will you be afraid? I guess not anymore! Power and authority come from the one true God. There is power with the words we speak, for death and life are in the power of the tongue, (Proverbs 18:21). And I believe that we must boldly speak of victory towards every situation in our lives in order to achieve what we really aim for.

Full of wisdom - The Lord gives to anyone who lacks wisdom when he asks because God gives generously (James 1:5). As I read the New Testament and how Jesus answers those who are trying to mock and questioned Him, I see God's Wisdom. He's just so amazing, the way He teaches the sheep, and even those who tried to trap Jesus by His words were astonished by His wisdom, (Matthew 22:15-33).

Has a plan - When I said He has a plan, it means no one can stop Jesus from doing the work that the Father has entrusted to Him, though human power tried to stop Him, they can't. He moved from place to place, one destination after another, and still meet people just like you and me whom He truly cared for and loved. He changed the route but the purpose remains, see how He met the Samaritan Woman and intentionally made His own self known to her and then healed the official's son all at the same chapter, (John 4:1-54).

Everything He did was just so 'life-changing', and all happened because He stayed on the same path, the same goals, our Lord Jesus was unstoppable at that time and even now. He's still at work in our lives (Philippians 1:6).

Stays with the 'Word of God' - Why is this important? Even Jesus was tempted by the devil three times in the wilderness to take him away from the Plan of God (Matthew 4:1-11). However, Jesus used the 'Word of God' as a weapon against every temptation and lies the enemy throw at Him. He rebuked the devil and it flees. If Jesus entertained the voice of the devil, do you think He can fulfill His purpose? If He did not cling to the 'Word of God', what's going to happen to the salvation of the world?

Pray always - I think this is one of the best things that we can do in every circumstance. It is said in:

PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that we have to become perfect like Christ. We can never be! It is only by the grace of God and His unconditional love that we are being saved and can live in liberty. But what I've listed here are the characteristics of the Lord that inspired me personally on how I should stay on the path God called me to be. I know you knew, He is our greatest teacher and role model, right? - AMEN!

Not only that, I believe that God gave every person a unique purpose in life, a different and beautiful path to walk through. It is up to you how you will handle your gifts. The Parable of the Talents described this best! Each servant was given a bag of golds according to their abilities, look at what happens in:

MATTHEW 25:15-21

"To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.

The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more.

So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money.

After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.

The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. 'Master', he said, 'you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.

His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!"

You may read the whole story in Matthew 25:15-21.

And to cut the story short, the master was pleased with his two servants who used their gifts wisely and gained more through their faithful works. Although each didn't receive the same bags of gold, still the one who received less stays faithful to what was entrusted to him. But to the man who stays idle and afraid, even all that he had was taken away, the master was displeased and called him 'wicked and lazy servant'.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Yeah, indeed! Comparison, intimidation, and false humility are all factors that stop us from achieving our goals. Don't allow these things to hinder you from achieving your dreams and living a life of purpose.

Remember that we are accountable to God for whatever we do in our own lives! Consider this: are you enslaved by your own fears? If you don't take initiative, you'll miss out on all the breakthroughs! However, it is not yet too late, and now is the ideal time to make things right.

And if lately, you've been lost, distracted, or discouraged, it is enough! Don't let disappointment get the best of you; instead, get back on track. Some say it's okay not to be okay, and I'm not going to argue with that, but after all the crying and grieving, refocus on what really matters. Eliminate what needs to be removed in your thoughts and start reorganizing, start the planning, and stay on your own path!

HAVE CONFIDENCE!

OVERVIEW

Words are so powerful. Whatever you say to yourself becomes you! Whatever you say to others causes something! So have you ever notice the words that are coming out of your mouth?

Try to remember, this past few days, weeks, or months, Is it good or mostly bad words? Is it valuable or mostly nonsense? Do you have that feeling to argue all the time and the way you express is not speaking at all but screaming! And I can imagine, this kind of scene happens at home all the time, especially this time of the quarantine. Because when we are becoming impatient, we tend to answer the other person simply in an aggressive and disrespectful way. Or maybe, you accidentally said something discouraging or hurtful to somebody, without recognizing, your words are inviting negativities to somebody else's mind. It is said in:

MATTHEW 15:18 (NLT)

"But the things that come out of a person's mouth come from the heart, and these defile them."

MATTHEW 12:24 (NIV)

"You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of."

Now I get it! Everything really starts from the heart. So if you are full of unforgiveness inside you, you will speak unforgiveness. If you're too proud, we'll probably hear you bragging. If you're negative, no wonder you will be speaking of unbelief and negativities in life. The Word of God is just so real, right? We cannot really hide what's inside our hearts, it always manifests through our words and actions.

But let me ask you, have you ever speak life and encouragement to others? Are you able to bless somebody and uplift a broken soul? Maybe some time in your life, you did. And how does it feel? So good right?

ROBERT INGERSOLL said:

"We rise by lifting others."

ERICH FROMM said:

"Not he who has much is rich but he who gives much."

It is true that there is so much joy when we are able to contribute to other people's lives. When we help others, there is a satisfaction in our hearts that is making us rich in a way, that no money can buy. But we cannot give what we do not have. So in order for us to bring people into the light, we must be the first to experience the healing and the power of becoming a true disciple of Christ.

I don't know about you but I felt in my heart that somehow someone needs to hear this. Am I not the only one who struggles in speaking my heart out or expressing what's really in my mind? I find it difficult to say the right words in the right circumstances. Some are good at speaking but others are not. But I believe it is okay, we are not perfect humans.

CONTROL YOUR MOUTH

I believe that there are really times when we can't control our words and emotions. But do you know why it happens? Here are the reasons:

1. You are more drawn to the world

2. You didn't spend time with the presence of God

3. You are ignoring the voice of the Holy Spirit of God

Here's the counterpart:

1. Disconnect from the worldly things

2. Spend more time in the presence of God, pray!

3. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, obey His voice

Do you know that we are accountable to God for every word we speak? It is said in:

MATTHEW 12:36 (NLT)

"And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak."

MATTHEW 12:36 (NIV)

"But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken."

I got a little bit scared the first time I've read this. I cannot blame you guys, before, even I myself was not really aware of the consequences of every word I speak. How many nonsenses and sharp words have I said since I was a teenager, I couldn't remember how many! I admit my old life was so dark that I use profanity before as an expression of my feelings. That was awful. But it says in:

1 JOHN 1:9

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

EPHESIANS 1:7

"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,"

And that's my good news for you! Do you know that it's not yet too late? God is still giving us all the time that's left to live our life right. Jesus did not die on the cross for us to become slaves of ungodliness and sins. The Lord paid it all at the cross. Our past, our shame, and even the sins that we are about to make! He is so good. So living and behaving like Christ is our way to show our love and respect to the Lord.

HOW TO USE YOUR WORDS WISELY?

1. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK

This is so practical. We always heard of this phrase but mind you, it is really powerful. Whatever it is that you have in mind, may actually come out through your words.

ANTHONY LICCIONE said:

"A fool is made more of a fool, when their mouth is more open than their mind."

ALI IBN ABI TALIB A.S said:

"Take care of your tongue like the way you take care of gold & silver."

The bible says let us think of whatever is pure, whatever is right, whatever is true, whatever is just and lovely. Why? Because that is the heart of God for His children. We are the light and salt of the world, remember? And our tongue is like a knife, if we're not careful, it can harm others, it can cut our relationships, and worst, it causes deepest wounds on the soul.

2. PRACTICE DECLARING GOD'S WORD EVEN IF YOU'RE AT YOUR DOWNFALL

How can you speak life to other people if you couldn't speak life to yourself? I know a person who's battling in her mind whether she would stay positive and believe or just accept the defeat and dwell on loneliness. But you know what, though she's broke, I see her whispering to herself "God is good, He has a better plan." She's encouraging herself as if she's encouraging another person.

PTR. STEVEN FURTICK said:

"You gotta fight your mind with your MOUTH! Because you can think a thousand thoughts all at the same time. But you can only speak WORD one at a time."

This is so powerful. If you will only learn to cheer up yourself and get motivated in God, I believe you will become a blessing to others. Just like King David, in Psalm 23, he was in a situation where everything looks falling apart in his life, his son Absalom was hunting him and trying to overthrow him and kill him. King David was in the wilderness hiding in caves and mountains and if you will just imagine, maybe he was also really tired, discouraged, and confused at that time. But instead of dwelling on the defeat and loneliness, he recites the PSALM 23. This is how he uplifts himself:

PSALM 23

"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."

It is only shown here that David knows his identity in the Lord. That he's a Child of God and no bad news, no waves or storms can change that. How about you? How about us? Can we really praise God and declares His goodness in times of trouble? Think about it.

3. LET THE HOLY SPIRIT SPEAKS

How much do you trust your own self? When you give advice to others, do you think it will benefit them? Or that's what God wants for them? Many people are looking for a place to release their pains and emotions, and sadly, the only free and accessible way is to blunt it out all on Twitter, Facebook Status, or Instagram. The world needs us. We are the salt and light of the world. Shine through your deeds and kind words.

We must learn to lean on God's Word and to the voice of the Holy Spirit especially when we are going to talk to people. We cannot minister to people all by ourselves. In order to be effective, we need the power of the Beautiful Spirit of God. Cause the Lord said, He'll be with us till the very end of the ages. As we allow God to use our lives in sharing His goodness to others.

4. SPEAK TO OTHERS WITH AUTHORITY

After you prayed and receive the anointing from the Holy Spirit, when you speak, speak the Name of Jesus with power! Declare God's Word over the lives of your friends, family, relatives, loved ones, and others. This time shouldn't be wasted. Remember, we are called to be bold and brave. If we are not going to fight, who will fight for our family, for our friends and loved ones? We are not called to be losers. So don't be afraid to speak up. It is said in:

LUKE 10:19

"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

FINAL THOUGHTS

Remember the passage above whenever you are terrified. We are already victorious in Christ Jesus. We have authority over the enemy and nothing can harm us!

SO CHOOSE TO SPEAK LIFE

NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES

YOU'RE LIGHT WILL SHINE

BECAUSE YOU HAVE GOD
